Updates - FINALLY!

August 13th, 2009 by Becky

Time to update this puppy!  Cavan and I went to Michigan for a short trip back in June for my sister’s graduation from night school.  I wish we had more time to spend visiting, but alas - it was a short trip.

Shannon had to work, so just Cavan and I went.  We rented a car and drove and I’m happy to report that Cavan did excellent in the car during the 7 hour drive.  I stopped twice at rest areas on the way there to let him stretch and run around, and once to eat dinner.  He mostly slept the whole way, but when he was awake he was in a good mood and sat happily looking out the window, playing with his toys, or singing.

I brought the pack and play for him to sleep in at the hotel, but it turned out that he wanted nothing to do with that.  Luckily the room had a king sized bed, because Cavan, as it turns out, can hog a bed with the best of them!

We spent some time visiting before the ceremony, and Cavan absolutely loved being able to run around without having to have Mommy 5 feet from him at all times.  He met some little puppies, which he loved, and he met some kittens too.  I held the kittens for awhile and Cavan showed his jealousy by pulling my arms off from them.  Apparently I am his Mommy and I am not allowed to hold any other creature!

Oh, and did I mention - Cavan LOVES watermelon?

And, here’s your dose of Cavan weirdness… As I was packing I found him doing this:

The end result?

Cavan sure can make a wheel look pretty! Your sister looks all grown up now…so not right!

Well, that’s Amy - she’s the middle one, she just turned a whopping 28! She finally got her diploma (they can go to night school to get an actual diploma now instead of just a GED), and to do that with 2 kids and after being out of school so long I’m very proud of her. She’s starting community college this fall - I can’t even imagine trying to do school with kids. It was stressful enough when I only had to worry about me!
